Cindy Lee Neighbors

is a physician, writer, and advocate whose work delves into the complexities of the human experience. Her artistic journey began as a young child in Hawaii, landing commercial and print work. She competed in various pageants locally, winning the title of Miss Teen Asian International, before setting her sights on Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. While studying theatre at USC, she gained valuable experience through various roles in film and television.
Answering a call to serve, Cindy commissioned as an officer in the United States Army, embarking on a new chapter as a physician. She graduated with honors from the Uniformed Services University, earning her Medical Degree. She furthered her expertise through an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Her research has been published in multiple high-impact medical journals, and her work specifically on reducing opioid prescriptions has garnered national recognition.
Cindy’s personal journey, marked by challenges and triumphs, is woven into her writing with raw honesty and vulnerability. Her stories explore themes of resilience, addiction, and the power of finding one’s voice. Now retired from the military, she is dedicated to using her experiences and voice to uplift and empower others, particularly those facing adversity. Through her work, she strives to foster connection, inspire hope, and encourage others to embrace their unique narratives and discover resilience in overcoming challenges.
